New Beginings by the College Of The Arts
College of the Arts Diploma graduates in Visual Art will be exhibiting their work at the National Gallery of Namibia, starting on Thursday, 7 February 2019. This is the tenth exhibition of the popular and innovative work of COTA graduates, affording the public a chance to see new work by fresh graduates in visual arts. The exhibition will be up until 9 March 2019.
New Beginnings was initiated as a springboard for young visual artists who are at the beginning of their artistic careers. Work exhibited on this show is by the graduates in their final year of study as well as work done in their own studios, old and new graduates come together to show the public their skills as artists.
Graduates exhibit together resulting in an eclectic mix of styles, mediums and inspired choices. Creativity and the original use of materials are evident in this years New Beginnings. Paintings, drawings and sculptures cover a large variety of styles and genres taking careful note of these new artists and their brand of contemporary art promises to be a rewarding experience.
New Beginnings 2019 will be opened by the Deputy Director of Arts in the Ministry of Education, Art and Culture, Ms MKariko Amagulu. Ms. Amagulu is responsible for marketing and promotion of Namibian Art in the Ministry.
